Journal Title Description

The VLDB Journal

The VLDB Journal is a quarterly journal published by the VLDB Endowment. The journal is dedicated to the publication of scholarly contributions to the advancement of information system architectures, the impact of technological advancements on information systems, and the development of novel database applications. The journal was launched in July 1992. It is now published both in electronic and printed form by Springer-Verlag, beginning with Volume 5 (1996).

Journal of Database Management

The Journal of Database Management publishes original research on all aspects of database management, systems analysis and design, and software engineering. The primary mission of JDM is to be instrumental in the improvement and development of theory and practice related to information technology and management of information resources. The journal is targeted at both academic researchers and practicing IT professionals.

Data & Knowledge Engineering

Database Systems and Knowledgebase Systems share many common principles. Data & Knowledge Engineering (DKE) stimulates the exchange of ideas and interaction between these two related fields of interest. DKE reaches a world-wide audience of researchers, designers, managers and users. The major aim of the journal is to identify, investigate and analyze the underlying principles in the design and effective use of these systems. DKE achieves this aim by publishing original research results, technical advances and news items concerning data engineering, knowledge engineering, and the interface of these two fields.

ACM Transactions on Database Systems

The ACM Transactions on Database Systems (TODS) publishes original archival papers in the area of databases and closely related disciplines. The majority of the papers that have appeared in TODS address the logical and technical foundation of data management.

International Journal of Business Intelligence and Data Mining

The IJBIDM publishes and disseminates knowledge on an international basis in the areas of business intelligence, intelligent data analysis, and data mining. It provides a forum for state-of-the-art developments and research, as well as current innovative activities in business intelligence, data analysis and mining. In contrast to other journals, IJBIDM focuses on the application of data analysis and mining techniques in business applications.

ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data

The ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data (TKDD) welcomes papers on a full range of research in the knowledge discovery and analysis of diverse forms of data. Such subjects include: scalable and effective algorithms for data mining and data warehousing, mining data streams, mining multi-media data, mining high-dimensional data, mining text, Web, and semi-structured data, mining spatial and temporal data, data mining for community generation, social network analysis, and graph structured data, security and privacy issues in data mining, visual, interactive and online data mining, pre-processing and post-processing for data mining, robust and scalable statistical methods, data mining languages, foundations of data mining, KDD framework and process, and novel applications and infrastructures exploiting data mining technology.

International Journal of Data Warehousing and Mining

International Journal of Data Warehousing and Mining aims to publish and disseminate knowledge on an international basis in the areas of data warehousing and data mining. It is published multiple times a year, with the purpose of providing a forum for state-of-the-art developments and research, as well as current innovative activities in data warehousing and mining. In contrast to other journals, this journal focuses on the integration between the fields of data warehousing and data mining, with emphasize on the applicability to real world problems. The journal is targeted at both academic researchers and practicing IT professionals.

Information Systems

Subject areas include data management issues as presented in the principal international database conferences (e.g. ACM SIGMOD, ACM PODS, VLDB and EDBT) as well as data-related issues from the fields of data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, internet data management, visual and audio information systems, scientific computing, and organisational behaviour.
